Premier League relegation permutations this weekend: Burnley join Sheffield United in demotion to Championship
The Premier League is coming to its conclusion for another season, and there are two teams trying to remain in the top-flight.
Luton and Nottingham Forest are all still in a desperate fight for survival.
However, Burnley’s relegation back to the Championship has been confirmed after the club lost 2-1 to Tottenham.
Meanwhile, the Hatters are now on the brink.
Luton
The Hatters short stay in the Premier League is now all but over.
Rob Edwards’ side lost 3-1 to West Ham, meaning they are three points behind Forest with a much worse goal difference.

This also means that anything bar a defeat for Nottingham Forest against Chelsea would mathematically relegate Luton.
Nottingham Forest
Forest’s 3-1 win over Sheffield United was huge for their survival hopes, and they cannot be relegated this afternoon.
Instead, they can demote Luton and preserve their top-flight place for another year.
Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side simply have to avoid defeat after Luton’s 3-1 defeat.
Even a defeat isn’t the end of the world because of Forest’s vastly superior goal difference.
