Manchester United midfielder Facundo Pellistri took the opportunity to mock teammate Alejandro Garnacho on social media over his EA Sports FC 24 team.

The game – no longer backed by FIFA – was launched back in September and, while it has split fan opinion over gameplay and various glitches, it remains the most popular football video game on the planet with plenty of professional players spending hours on it.

During the international break, Garnacho posted a picture of his Ultimate Team line-up on social media.

The 19-year-old included many legends of the game, such as Peter Schmeichel, Patrick Vieira, and Ronaldo Nazario.

Garnacho also opted to include himself on the left side of the attack, despite only a 77-rating, while the rest of his players are in the 90s and high-80s.

His XI prompted Pellistri to brutally troll his Man United colleague, saying: “And he still can’t win any games.”

Garnacho then hit back: “Still 3-0 in games against you. Stop spending money; it won’t make you good.”

Before the Uruguayan replied: “He is lying.”

While Garnacho claims he has the upper hand on his United teammate online, Pellisti was definitely the winner on the pitch over the international break.

While Garnacho failed to make the Argentina squad, Pellistri was reaping the rewards with Uruguay.

His side recently ran out 2-0 winners over the World Cup winners, with Liverpool‘s Darwin Nunez and Nicolas de la Cruz on target.

Both Garnacho and Pellistri are expected to be part of the Man United team that travels to Goodison Park to face Everton on Sunday.
