Dunk appeared to have done something to his groin and was OK to play for the remaining moments of the opening 45 minutes.

However, Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi opted to make a change for the second-half and the centre-back was brought off for Igor.

Such an injury could prove to be a big blow for Dunk’s chances of playing for England once again next week.

He was named in Gareth Southgate’s squad for their upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia.

Dunk has made three appearances for the Three Lions but has been selected for international duty for the fourth consecutive break.

The 31-year-old most recently played in the friendly wins against Scotland and Australia, with his England debut coming in 2018.

It remains to be seen if he will return to action for the Three Lions for their coming games given his injury.

Despite his absence for half of the match, Brighton were still able to seal a crucial win in the Europa League.
