He was man-of-the-match in the 3-1 Euro 2024 qualifier win over Italy, the ninth time he has won that award in 20 total games this season.

Bellingham chose to join Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund in the summer in what is looking to be a bargain £115million.

He chose Madrid over Liverpool, the second time he opted not to play in the Premier League. Manchester United was also an option when he picked to join Dortmund from Birmingham in 2020.

He is already a superstar at Madrid and admitted he wants to stay at the LaLiga giants for the next ‘10-to-15 years’.

Bellingham told Channel 4: “I am getting a little better each time I play. It was a really good night for us, we all remember what happened a few years ago when they played us here. You always aim for progression. We are heading in the right direction and a very important win for us.

“I am loving football at the minute. My management at club and country are giving me freedom to play it how I see it.

“Since the last few months I have been really working on my timing getting into the box and as I am arriving I am arriving with a big hunger.

“With the big transfer the fact is I have to deliver, whether it is a goal or assist or a match-winning performance.

“This is the club I want to be at for the next 10 to 15 years of my life. I am loving it there. Carlo basically said this position is where he sees me.”

A talent like Bellingham’s is rarely seen and talkSPORT’s Jason Cundy thinks we are witnessing a once in a generation talent.

“We are talking about a generational talent in Jude Bellingham,” Cundy told The Sports Bar. “When was the last time a player came along that we spoke of like this? That was Rooney and that was a generation ago.

“Before that Gazza. Another generation ago. What I’m saying is players like this come around every now and then.”

The comparisons to Paul Gascoigne do not stop there either with Bellingham’s all round play likened to the superstar midfielder.

England legend Stuart Pearce told talkSPORT: “You can almost see shades of Gazza with that arrogance on the football pitch, that comfortable nature of being so young but so competent at this level.”

Bellingham could even emulate Gascoigne as well by not playing in the Premier League until late in his career.

Gazza left Tottenham in 1992, just before the top division in England rebranded as the Premier League, spending several seasons at Lazio and Rangers.

He did not make his debut in the competition until playing for Middlesbrough in 1998 and then later joining Everton.

What is England’s loss will be Spain’s gain as Bellingham looks like a future Ballon d’Or winner.
