The Times claims new evidence shows they dealt with an unlicensed agent when agreeing to sell Jermain Defoe to Portsmouth in 2008, and the Football Association took no action at the time.

However, they are prepared to review the allegations that were first raised by Andrew after he was dropped by Defoe, who claimed to represent during in the deal in question.

talkSPORT’s Jordan has previously admitted his dislike for agents and he clashed with Andrew on the show…

Sky: “I noticed that when I was saying about players honouring their contract, Simon had a little smirk. But the truth of this matter is that players can’t win. If players honour their contract and the clubs want to keep them, then that’s a problem.

“If players honour their contracts and then clubs want to sell them… so all I’m saying is, let’s just get it straight here, agents, clubs, everybody should be happy if a player honours their contract.”

Simon: “I wasn’t smirking at that. I was smirking at the ridiculous assertion that you guys empathise with players honouring their contract.”

Sky: “Don’t say you guys…”

Simon: “You guys, the lot of you in your fraternity, you make money from moves.”

Sky: “No no no no no. You can’t make a sweeping generalisation…”

Simon: “I can.”

Sky: “No you can’t!”

Simon: “I can!”

Sky: “Don’t be ridiculous…”

Simon: “I perceive you to be a homogeneous group…”

Sky: “That’s absolutely ridiculous.”

Simon: “That all act and operate in the same way because the principles of how you make money, and everyone knows it, is that you make money from moves.”

Sky: “You’re absolutely wrong, I’ll tell you why because you can’t make a sweeping generalisation about a group of people who act differently.

“I’m telling you, that I’ve told every single player I’ve ever represented to honour their contract. Sometimes, the clubs might not be happy with that, especially if a player is honouring their contract and they’ve got a value attached to them.

“You say a lot of good things, but what you’ve just said there is just absolutely ridiculous, you cannot make a sweeping generalisation about any group of people.”

Simon: “Well I can, because I’ve dealt with most of you and I’ve seen most of you. You might be an exception Sky but your reputation isn’t as up there as you might like to think it is…”

Jordan continued to insist he could make a sweeping generalisation of agents

Sky: “Don’t get personal, don’t get personal.”

Simon: “I’m not getting personal, I’m just making an observation…”

Sky: “Yes you are!”

Simon was then asked if he has dealt with Sky directly…

Simon: “No.”

Sky: “Well then, that’s just ridiculous then isn’t it?”

Simon: “But I’m well aware of how the industry is held together, so I can make the sweeping statement.”

Sky: “Have you dealt with 4,000 agents then, is that what you’re saying?”

Simon: “No I haven’t, but I understand the agent fraternity very well and the modus operandi, and the way you make money is by engineering and orchestrating moves.”
