Toney’s current deal expires in the summer of 2025, prompting interest from Arsenal and Chelsea.

The Bees are adamant they will not sell the ex-Newcastle centre-forward in the upcoming January transfer window.

In May, Toney was banned from all football-related activity for eight months for breaking Football Association betting rules and was subsequently fined £50,000 after admitting to the breaches.

The 27-year-old returned to training with the Bees in September ahead of his anticipated comeback in January 2024.

However, the one-cap England international has warmed to the idea of leaving the west London outfit in the near future with Arsenal among the club’s mentioned during a podcast in August.

“I have been a Liverpool fan my whole life, but I have liked Arsenal,” he told the Diary of a CEO podcast.

“I like watching Arsenal and how they play and kind of how passionate the fans are.

“But, yeah, Liverpool fan, Liverpool boy at heart.”

Meanwhile, Brentford boss Thomas Frank has regularly spoken out on the importance of Toney to his side, but previously conceded he could be forced to let his striker leave in the event of a good offer.

Darragh MacAnthony claims Ivan Toney will guarantee Chelsea or Arsenal the title in the next two years

He told Sky Sports: “If they build well with us on this journey, and now prove they are good enough to go to the top clubs, but for the right price.

“Yes, it does apply to him too (Toney), I understand why there are a lot of rumours out there.

“For me, as a striker and a number nine, I don’t see many others better than him in the world.”

Before his ban, Toney scores 21 goals in 35 appearances for Brentford, leading to his one and only cap for the Three Lions in the Euro 2024 qualifier against Ukraine at Wembley in March.
