Wales return to Euro 2024 qualifying action on Saturday afternoon as they take on Armenia in Yerevan knowing a win would take them just one win away from automatic qualification.

Wales make the trip to Yerevan as favourites for victory on Saturday afternoon, with Betfair pricing an away win at 19/20.

Armenia v Wales preview

Wales head into the final international break of the calendar year and the final week of Euro 2024 qualifiers in a very strong position to reach what would be their fourth major tournament since 2016.

Robert Page’s side’s surprise 2-1 win over Croatia last month means that Wales have their fait in their own hands, and win on Saturday in Yerevean followed by a home victory over Turkey on Tuesday would see them qualify for next summer’s Euros in Germany.

The Dragons currently sit second in the final automatic qualification spot in Group D, six points behind the already qualified Turkey side, and level on points with Croatia.

Wales crucially lead the Croats in their head-to-head record, so are guaranteed to finish ahead of them should they stay tied on points.

Armenia head into their final two matches of the campaign also with an outside chance of securing qualification to their first ever major tournament since independence from the Soviet Union, but they in all likelihood to win both of their games over the coming week.

Oleksandr Petrakov’s side currently have seven points to their name after their six matches, three points behind Wales and Croatia, whom they both play in their remaining two matches.

A draw for Armenia could also do for them against Wales on Saturday but that would also mean they rely on Croatia failing to beat Latvia in Riga later in the day.

Wales are winless across their three matches they’ve previously played against Wales, drawing their first two but notably winning 4-2 in Cardiff back in June, one of their two wins in this qualification campaign so far.

Armenia v Wales betting tips

Croatia’s probable win over Latvia in the day effectively makes this game a must-win for both teams, a de facto semi final.

A cagey affair is expected but Wales’ good squad and better form having won their last three games (with Armenia having lost their last three) should be enough for them to get the job done.

Betfair are pricing a 2-1 Wales win at 15/2, which could be worth a punt, while those more confident can get a 2-0 away win at 8/1 or a 3-0 win at 12/1 with the same bookie.
