Jude Bellingham looked downbeat as he watched his Real Madrid teammates secure a 5-1 victory over Valencia.

The midfielder was ruled out of the La Liga clash after suffering a dislocated shoulder last week.

While he was an unused substitute against Braga in the Champions League midweek, he was deemed unfit for the final clash before the international break.

Having scored 13 goals in 14 appearances since joining Real Madrid over the summer, Madrid fans could be forgiven for being anxious about his absence, but as it turned out, they had little to worry about.

Dani Carvajal opened the scoring after just three minutes with a wonderful left-footed volley after cutting inside from the right following a diagonal ball from Toni Kroos.

Vinicius Jr made it two with a fortuitous effort as he converted from close range with his chest, before getting his second four minutes after the break.

Brazilian forward Rodrygo then made it four after capitalising on a mistake at the back before slotting home and recreating Cristiano Ronaldo’s famous ‘Siuu’ celebration, before making it 5-0 with a neat finish six minutes from time.

Hugo Duro did grab a late consolation for Valencia, but it was too little, too late as Real Madrid made it 10 wins from 13 La Liga matches this term.

With a two-week break ahead of them, Madrid will be hoping to have Bellingham back as they look to chase down league leaders Girona in the coming weeks and months.
