UFC 295 preview

It’s not just the main event that appeals this weekend as Tom Aspinall is also in the Octagon late on Saturday night against Sergei Pavlovich as they battle for the interim heavyweight title.

Both fighters in the main event are very evenly matched on paper in regard to age, height, weight and reach.

The Czechian fighter has the slight benefit of a 1 inch longer reach and is five years younger than the Brazilian but has a plethora of experience over Pereira too.

With 29 wins, three losses and one draw in comparison to the Brazilian’s 8-2-0.

Despite more fights, he also holds a higher rate of knockouts and submissions.

Whereas Pereira’s game is evenly between knockouts and lasting the distance to claim victory by decision.

And that’s could be what edges him slightly in the lead in the betting but ultimately, it’s all to fight for this weekend with the odds barely being able to split them.

As is also the way for the penultimate fight before the main attraction.

Aspinall is also just about the odds-on favourite going into the weekend to beat the Russian but it’s incredibly open as both fighters are in great form.

The Russian has a 100% knockout record though and it’ll be likely that as a result, Aspinall goes for another submission win which he has won a fair few from.

The Brit has 13 wins and three losses while Pavlovich has as many as 18 wins and only one loss.
