Erling Haaland has been seen in training ahead of Manchester City’s Champions League clash against Young Boys.

However, Pep Guardiola insists that he’s not sure whether or not the 23-year-old will be fit for Tuesday night’s match.

City host Young Boys in their fourth match of the Champions League group stage, having won all three games so far.

But after Haaland came off against Bournemouth at half-time with a twisted ankle, his availability has been placed in doubt.

However, the Norway international looked in high spirits in training today for City, alleviating fears that he was facing a long spell out.

Whether Guardiola picks the former Borussia Dortmund star to play against Young Boys, though, remains to be seen.

“We will speak with the doctor – I don’t know,” he said about Haaland’s availability Monday.

“I will listen to the doctors. If [the doctor] says he is ready and does not have pain I will consider him to play.

“Yesterday he told me he felt much better than the day of the game.”

Haaland has been in searing form this season and has already scored 13 times while he took part in City’s afternoon training session on Monday, which was open to the media.

With qualification already nearly secured, Guardiola might give Haaland the chance to recover ahead of the weekend’s fixture against Chelsea in the Premier League.

“We will try to finish and qualify for February and the next stage,” said Guardiola.

“It means a lot to the club. Being there is a success.

“It’s so important, more than you can imagine, because we can park the car until February and focus on the Premier League and others. We have to close it on Tuesday.

“You have to try to finish first. We have the chance to play the second game [of the last 16] at home and that is definitely better.”

City are the reigning champions in the Champions League having won the competition for the first time last season.

Haaland was a major part of the squad, scoring 13 times in the competition in his debut campaign on their way to glory.

And he has started this year in fine fashion, too, having netted twice in three Champions League games this season.
