Muhammad Mokaev picked up the biggest win of his career at UFC 294.

The undefeated British prospect, who was born in Russia, took on former flyweight title contender Tim Elliott at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on Saturday night.

Mokaev didn’t have things all his own way, but the tide started to turn in his favour when he slammed out of a triangle submission attempt in round two.

The 23-year-old lifted Elliott into the air and chucked him to the floor.

WWE legend Batista is one of the many professional wrestling stars known for power-bombing opponents and he would’ve been proud of the move Mokaev pulled off.

It wasn’t enough to finish Elliott and their fight was hanging in the balance – two of the three officials had Mokaev losing after ten minutes.

Mokaev took his fate out of the judges’ hands in round three as he locked up an arm-triangle choke that forced Elliott to tap with less than two minutes left on the clock.

The Manchester-based prospect improved his perfect record to 11-0.

Post-fight, he told former dual-weight UFC champion-turned-commentator, Daniel Cormier, that he wants a title eliminator bout with top-five flyweight contender Kai Kara-France next.

“Tim Elliott, he’s an ex-title contender and he won TUF [The Ultimate Fighter].

“Now I am 5-0 in the UFC with four finishes and most fight winning streak in the flyweight division. Dana [White], give me Kai Kara-France or [let me fight] for the title.”

Mokaev was ranked at 11 and Elliott was just one spot above him before they clashed at UFC 294.

It’s currently unclear if Kara-France is willing to fight down the rankings or if Mokaev has done enough to convince the UFC bosses he’s ready to face the best.

Whatever happens, ‘The Punisher’ will get a big fight next and it seems to be just a matter of time before the famous flyweights are forced into the Octagon with him.
